Daaku Maharaaj is a Telugu action drama directed by Bobby Kolli, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shraddha Srinath, and Pragya Jaiswal, alongside Bobby Deol and others in supporting roles. The film features music by Thaman S, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios.
The story is set in the Madanapalle region, where MLA Trimurthulu Naidu (Ravi Kishan) and his brother, Manohar Naidu, engage in illegal activities like smuggling elephant tusks and animal skins under the guise of a tea estate. They try to kill a little girl named Baby Vaishnavi, but Nanaji (played by Nandamuri Balakrishna) intervenes to protect her. The story revolves around the questions: Who is Vaishnavi? Why does Trimurthulu Naidu's gang want to kill her? Why does Nanaji feel the need to save her, and who exactly is Nanaji? What is his connection to Engineer Seetha Ram (another role played by Balakrishna)?
The transformation into Daaku Maharaj, the real reason behind it, and the role of Bobby Deol as Balwant Thakur Singh are central to the plot. Shraddha Srinath’s character, Nandini, and Pragya Jaiswal’s character, Kaveri, also contribute significantly to the story, with the SI (Urvashi Rautela) playing a crucial part. Ultimately, Daaku Maharaj seeks to bring an end to Trimurthulu Naidu’s illegal activities and becomes the protector of Baby Vaishnavi.
